Mayor Burgess and the City of North Charleston announce the creation of the Small Business Enterprise Department

North Charleston, SC – May 31, 2024 – Mayor Burgess and the City of North Charleston have announced the establishment of the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Department, a new initiative aimed at fostering and supporting the growth of small businesses within the city. This strategic move underscores the city’s commitment to nurturing local entrepreneurship and enhancing economic development.

The newly formed SBE Department will be headed by Frank Ancrum. Mr. Ancrum brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by small business owners.
