The South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED), Charleston Metro Chamber, and Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) have developed the Lowcountry Minority Business Partnership (LMBP) to connect, empower, and inspire a network of minority entrepreneurs. This partnership focuses on supporting new and existing businesses in the Lowcountry throughout all stages of their lifecycle by offering resources, providing connection opportunities, and hosting events. Several other organizations in the region also serve as collaborators in this partnership.
To celebrate National Small Business Month, the LMBP hosted a Small Business Resource Mixer on Friday, May 10, at The Opportunity Center. The event aimed to bring new resources to small- and minority-owned business owners in the Lowcountry. Attendees connected with each other, received access to curated resources, and listened to a success panel of local entrepreneurs who shared personal testimonies on how the resources available at the event transformed their business operations.
The mixer also marked the release of the digital Ecosystem Resource Guide, an extensive collection of resources for minority business owners. The guide contains resources helpful in all stages of a business’s lifecycle, from startup to mature business.
This event marked just the beginning of what the LMBP hopes to accomplish as the partnership works to continue building and supporting the minority business ecosystem in the Lowcountry.
