Rep. Nancy Mace condemns Iran's nuclear activity, calls for stronger international response

(June 20, 2024. WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), Co-chair of the Iranian Women Congressional Caucus, today condemned the alarming discovery of increased nuclear enrichment activity at Iran's Fordow facility. A recent report highlights Iran's advancements in uranium enrichment, posing a significant threat to global security.

"The findings are deeply troubling and highlight Iran's blatant violation of international agreements," said Rep. Mace. "The Biden administration's mishandling of Iran, marked by constant appeasement and a weak nuclear deal, is a dangerous failure. Since taking office, Biden has lifted critical sanctions, re-entered negotiations without preconditions, and ignored Iran's ballistic missile tests. They are setting the stage for an attack while we sit idly by, freeing up sanctions. Iran is the world's largest sponsor of global terror, and we need to treat them as such."

Rep. Mace urges the Biden administration to reassess its approach and work with international allies to impose stricter sanctions and enhance monitoring efforts.

"Peace and stability in the region depend on our collective resolve to hold Iran accountable," Mace stated. "We stand with the people of Iran and support their fight for freedom and democracy."
