Charleston police make additional arrests in downtown robberies

The Charleston Police Department has made three additional arrests in connection to two armed robberies that occurred minutes apart in downtown Charleston.

On August 25, 2024, at around 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery near the intersection of Pitt Street and Montague Street. Minutes later, a second robbery was reported in the area of Coming Street and Duncan Street. In both incidents, the suspects pointed guns at the victims and stole their personal belongings. Detectives have made the following arrests:

Josiah Jerome Limehouse (21, of Moncks Corner) has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, assault and battery first degree, and criminal conspiracy. At the time of the robberies, Limehouse was out on bond on previous charges of attempted murder, intimidation of a witness, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, malicious injury to personal property, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.

Ty’ron Jahiem Kentrell Brown (21, of Moncks Corner) has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, assault and battery first degree, and criminal conspiracy.

Additionally, a 17-year-old has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, assault and battery first degree, and criminal conspiracy. He was placed into the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Previously reported Derrick Gaillard (21, also from Moncks Corner) has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, assault and battery first degree, and criminal conspiracy.

The adult suspects are currently in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center. This investigation was aided by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and The College of Charleston Public Safety.
