Road closures planned for annual Turkey Day Run on November 28

The annual Turkey Day Run is set to occur on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., starting at Marion Square and proceeding south on Meeting Street towards White Point Gardens. Participants will traverse the South of Broad neighborhood, head to King Street, and then make their way back to Marion Square. The race route will be closed to traffic from 8:45 a.m. until the event concludes.

Key times for the day include Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup beginning at 7:00 a.m., the start of the race at 9:00 a.m., an awards ceremony in Marion Square at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Children’s Fun Run at 10:00 a.m. The entire event is scheduled to conclude by noon.

During the race, vehicle access to several businesses and residences along the route will be restricted. Officers will be present along the course to help manage traffic flow and provide neighborhood access.
