The Citadel men’s tennis falls to Georgia in doubleheader

The Citadel men’s tennis team played two matches against the University of Georgia on Sunday at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility in Athens. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 39 nationally, defeated The Citadel by scores of 7–0 and 4–0.

In the first match, Georgia won the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The home team then took all six singles matches in straight sets to claim a 7–0 win.

During the second match, Georgia again secured the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The Citadel achieved a win at No. 2 doubles, as Brady Gober and Ted Bagwell defeated Derrick Chen and Noah Johnston with a score of 6–2.

Georgia clinched the second match by taking singles wins at positions three, four, and five for a final score of 4–0. Singles matches at positions one, two, and six were not completed.

The Citadel will continue its season on Saturday, February 21 in Auburn, Alabama with matches against Marion Military Institute at 10 a.m., followed by Auburn University at 5 p.m.
