Two Charleston Southern players earn spots on Big South preseason softball team

Charleston Southern University had two players named to the Big South Conference Preseason All-Conference Team, according to an announcement made Wednesday. The Buccaneers were ranked fifth in the preseason poll for the upcoming softball season.

Jordyn Dimond was selected for the Preseason All-Conference Team. She is entering her third season with Charleston Southern and played in all 48 games last season. Dimond led the team with a .345 batting average and recorded an on-base percentage of .397. She collected 48 hits, scored 26 runs, and had 16 runs batted in.

Charlee Yourman also earned a spot on the preseason list. Entering her fourth year with the Buccaneers, she was previously named to the All-Conference First Team at the end of last season. Yourman started in 45 games and appeared in 47 overall, posting a .307 batting average and a .385 on-base percentage. She finished with 35 hits and drove in 13 runs.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to begin their season on Friday, February 5 against Sienna during the CSU/CofC Kickoff Tournament.
