Warming centers in Charleston region open during cold weather

Warming centers in the Charleston region will open to provide shelter due to expected cold weather on December 29 and 30, 2025. These centers are available for men, women, and children. Pets are not allowed.

On Monday, December 29, Holy City Missions at Aldersgate Methodist Church in North Charleston and Seacoast Church Summerville in Summerville will be open. On Tuesday, December 30, Hibben Emergency Cold Shelter in Mount Pleasant will join the other two locations.

The Hibben Emergency Cold Shelter is located at 690 Coleman Blvd., Mount Pleasant. Admission is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with evening pick-up offered between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. at 68 Columbus St. Morning transportation via CARTA is provided.

Holy City Missions at Aldersgate Methodist Church is situated at 1444 Remount Rd., North Charleston. Admission hours are also from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Transportation is available through CARTA Route 13 with a stop at Remount Rd. & Allison Ave.

Seacoast Church Summerville can be found at 301 E. N. 5th St., Summerville, with admission from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Visitors can use CARTA Route 10 and transfer to Tri-County Link at T-Mobile (8571 Rivers Ave.) for transportation.
