Cost of college went up for all students at Charleston Southern University

Tuition and fees rose 2.8 percent for 2018-19 at Charleston Southern University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $25,540 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $700 more than the $24,840 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 636 students received grants or scholarships totaling $13 million and 460 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,414), 3,045 students used grants or scholarships totaling $49.3 million, and 2,362 students took out $19 million in federal student loans.
