Cost of college went up for all students at Paul Mitchell the School-Charleston

Tuition and fees rose 3.2 percent for 2018-19 at Paul Mitchell the School-Charleston, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $15,900 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $500 more than the $15,400 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 18 students received grants or scholarships totaling $92,210 and 26 students took out student loans totaling more than $191,075.

Including all undergraduates (199), 166 students used grants or scholarships totaling $818,986, and 166 students took out $1.3 million in federal student loans.
