Charleston County Public Works is holding a public information meeting on the progress of the Better North Bridge Project, the department announced in a release.
“The purpose of the public meeting is to offer information on the project’s development process, outline the criteria used to evaluate the proposed alternatives, gather public comments, and provide next steps,” the department stated in the release.
The county is considering options for pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements between North Charleston and West Ashley. The proposal includes constructing a new pedestrian and bike bridge over the Ashley River and a shared-use path connecting the bridge to Azalea Drive in North Charleston, according to the release.
The public information meeting is 4-7 p.m. Dec. 15 at The Lowcountry Food Bank, 2864 Azalea Dr., North Charleston. The meeting will also be online from Dec. 15 to Jan. 29. Public comments will be accepted until Jan. 29 and can be submitted on the project website page, email or mail. Information is available on the Charleston County website.
