Beyond Distilling Company, a craft spirit and distilling business, announced plans to establish new operations in Charleston County earlier this month.

As a distilling company that specializes in craft spirits such as bourbon, rum and gin, Beyond Distilling Company will invest more than $767,000 to create 63 new jobs at their new Charleston County distillery, according to a news release from the Charleston County Economic Development Department.

“Beyond Distilling Company is excited to be a part of the incredible community that exists here in Charleston. We can’t wait to share our unique craft spirits and company culture with everyone," Beyond Distilling Company Owners Kerianne Krause, Tyler LaCorata and Ryan Sadis said, according to the news release.

The new distillery will be located at 2157 Rich Street in North Charleston and will increase its capacity to meet the growing demand for locally brewed spirits. Beyond Distilling Company's new facility will also feature an on-site restaurant and event space.

“Beyond Distilling Company’s new operations in Charleston County are yet another win for the Palmetto State. The 63 new jobs and the company’s presence are welcome additions to the South Carolina business community, and we celebrate today’s announcement," Gov. Henry McMaster (R) said, according to the Charleston County Economic Development Department.

Beyond Distilling Company was founded in 2019, and it produces a wide variety of world-class spirits that emphasize both local and exotically sourced ingredients of the highest quality through classic recipes with a unique twist. The company often uses coconut and other tropical flavors with classic spirits, such as rum and gin, to bring a new taste to traditional drinks.

“North Charleston is synonymous with handcrafted. Beyond Distilling Company complements our local economic strengths and highly skilled workforce, and we welcome this world-class company to the North Charleston community. We affirm our commitment to Beyond Distilling and look forward to future growth and success," North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said, according to the news release.
