Mount Pleasant issued the following announcement on January 27.
Mount Pleasant, S.C. (January 27, 2022) - Co-owner Heidi Oates with Co-owners Lisa and Gary Gremillion, joined by Mayor Haynie and Councilman Jake Rambo, along with Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Director of Development Rebecca Imholz with fellow Chamber Members, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, located at 1909 Suite P US-17.
The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar opened in December 2021 and the Mount Pleasant site is the first location in the Charleston area. Locally owned and operated, the milkshake bar serves as a dessert destination for residents and visitors alike. Using over 100 ingredients, including locally grown produce and toppings sourced from local bakeries and businesses, guests have 50 dessert combinations to choose from. The line-up of signature shakes and treats is ever-expanding and overflowing with creativity - and scrumptious sweets!
Exclusive to this location is a special dessert combination that has the Lowcountry in mind. Named "Playing in Pluff Mudd", this dessert contains scoops of sea salt caramel and chocolate ice cream with a marshmallow and graham cracker rim. Start diving into this unique menu item by spooning through chocolate whip cream, bits of Charleston Chews Bars, a dusting of graham crackers, and a whole ice cream sandwich. "Playing In Pluff Mudd" can only be ordered at the Mount Pleasant location.
The Oates and Gremillion families consider it a blessing that they discovered The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar while on a weekend getaway in Myrtle Beach last year. The two couples have worked together and have brought "a tasteful way to serve America's favorite treat" to Mount Pleasant. They aim to keep a small business feel at the forefront of their operations.
