The Charleston Housing Authority is the largest investment and expansion of affordable housing in South Carolina’s history. The Housing Authority is currently in the early stages of its multi-year plan to renovate or replace each of its 56 buildings, which have a combined 1,407 apartments. The plan seeks not just to maintain the organization’s existing units, but to expand its inventory and increase the availability of affordable housing in order to better serve the community.
On May 4, President and CEO of the City of Charleston's Housing Authority, Art Milligan, Jr., will provide a brief presentation addressing workforce development and the housing authority’s transition into a new funding model. After, experience a tour of Williams Terrace, the City of Charleston’s first dedicated housing for low-income seniors.
