Town Awarded Duke Energy Grant for Preparedness, Resiliency Initiatives

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (July 14, 2022) – The Town was recently awarded a grant from Duke Energy's Emergency Preparedness and Storm Resiliency Grant Program. Duke Energy representatives presented Mount Pleasant’s first responders with a $10,000 check at Town Hall today. 

Mount Pleasant Emergency Management & Resilience Officer, Amanda Knight expressed her appreciation for the grant saying, "As we head into the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, we couldn’t be more appreciative of the grant from Duke Energy, which will provide the Town with the necessary funding for swiftwater rescue and response training initiatives for our Police and Fire Departments.” 

Duke Energy’s Emergency Preparedness and Storm Resiliency Grant Program assist organizations in South Carolina with training, life-saving equipment, new technology to aid in disaster planning, and recovery operations needed in emergency management.
