Center Street Closure
The Contractor will start installing stormwater pipe on Center Street starting on Tuesday, September 13. Center Street and the sidewalk will be closed to all traffic from Simmons Street to beyond Short Street. Center Street, between Short Street and Royall Avenue, will be open to local traffic-only. Short Street will be closed from Center Street to Klein Street to local traffic-only. The construction in this area should be completed within six (6) weeks. All vehicles and any obstructions must be removed from the right of way by Monday (September 12) morning. Some driveways within the construction area will be impacted during working hours from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Pedestrian traffic, bicycles, and golf carts must use Simmons Street. Turn left onto Klien Street to reach Royall Avenue.
Mount Pleasant Academy will be providing information on access to the school campus.
