Mayor Haynie to Present National Hispanic Heritage Month Proclamation

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (September 15, 2022) - Mayor Will Haynie will proclaim Mount Pleasant’s participation in National Hispanic Heritage Month Friday night, kicking off the Caja de Cuerdas concert on the Town Hall lawn. The proclamation declares September 15 – October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month. 

“There are over 60 million Hispanic Americans in the United States, and the cultural, economic, and artistic contributions of Hispanic communities continue to enrich Mount Pleasant.” Mayor Haynie said. “During this month, the Hispanic American community will celebrate through a series of special events celebrating the rich tradition and many contributions made to our Town.” 

The family friendly event celebrating Hispanic heritage will begin at 6PM Friday evening on the Town Hall lawn with live music from Caja de Cuerdas, salsa lessons, food trucks and more. Admission to the event is free. Register for the event here.
