Mount Pleasant Senior Center to Host Fall Open House

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C.  (October 26, 2022) – The Thomasena Stokes-Marshall Senior Center in Mount Pleasant will open its doors on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for an educational and informative Open House.

Meet the dedicated staff and explore a wide variety of options in numerous fitness classes with live demos throughout. Tour the facility including the gym's treadmills, ellipticals and various equipment, learn about other program offerings and social activities including bridge and foreign language classes, and enjoy refreshments, giveaways and more.

“From fitness classes to social gatherings, the Senior Center has a multitude of activities for Mount Pleasant residents and non-residents,” says Sherrie Pompeii, Senior Center Coordinator. “During the Open House, you can explore all the fitness options! Talk with our staff, check out the class listings and watch a demo of a fitness class with an onsite instructor.”

Along with showcasing the Senior Center, the event will highlight the many athletic programs and classes offered by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department for those age 50 and over. Come learn more about aquatic programs, tennis clinics, bridge games and all adult classes available to our community.

ABOUT THE MOUNT PLEASANT SENIOR CENTER

Opened in 2008, the Thomasena Stokes-Marshall Senior Center offers a variety of recreation, cultural and creative arts programs in addition to providing health, wellness, educational and social activities. Space at the facility includes a state-of-the-art fitness room, aerobics room, café, screened porch, card room, education room, arts and crafts room, library, yoga room, members lounge and healing garden.
