End of 2022 Update from CYP Chair Jon Clark | Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce

As the year comes to an end, a lot of us start making plans for the future, but I think it is also a great time to reflect on the previous year and celebrate the wins.

We kicked off the year with a great CYP kickoff at Holy City Brewery. We had nearly 100 young professionals attend from all corners of the tri-county area.  New relationships were formed and great conversations were had by everyone.  It was a great way to kick off the new year.

Throughout the year, the steering committee came together to create some great social and professional development events held around the area at great venues such as The Wonderer and Hall’s Signature Events. As the committee joined in on conversations, it was clear that the professionals in the area are achieving great things in their personal and professional lives.

I truly enjoyed working with the steering committee to create these events and develop long-lasting relationships. For our final meeting, we looked around the room and realized that nearly every person on the committee has experienced some positive shift in their career – whether it be a promotion, company change or career change.

CYP is filled with a large group of movers and shakers.

As we look into 2023, some members will be moving on to other responsibilities and new faces will join us. I feel confident that the committee will create another great series of programs for CYP members that will help build new relationships and career growth.

As I step down as Chair and leave you in great hands with Lauren Ellis and Pat Tang, I encourage you to build new relationships, ask purposeful questions and add value to everyone you meet throughout CYP.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
