Leadership Charleston's 50th class recently had the privilege of visiting Joint Base Charleston (JBC) for the annual Military Day experience. The event aimed to provide an exclusive insight into the day-to-day military operations happening right in our community.

During the visit, participants were immersed in a variety of activities that showcased the crucial role of JBC in our region. This included a preflight briefing by Colonel Freeman of the 628th Air Base Wing and Colonel Todd of the 437th Airlift Wing, a thrilling flight in a C-17 with cargo drop and assault landing demonstrations, and even runway access for touch-and-go flight training.

Additionally, the day featured a panel discussion shedding light on the collaboration between military units and civilian contractors, a live demonstration by a K-9 officer, fire training demonstrations, and insightful sessions with enlisted personnel to understand the daily operations on the base.

As the event concluded, it was emphasized that the documentation of the day through videos and photos was made possible by the class's willingness to share their perspectives. One participant noted, "The culmination of the videos and photos above would not be possible without the generosity of the class in sharing their perspective on the day."

In appreciation of JBC's warm hospitality and the unforgettable experiences provided, it was expressed, "The Chamber would like to thank Joint Base Charleston for being a gracious host and providing memories that will last a lifetime."
