With free admission for all, the celebration of arts and culture will feature performances, activities, and exhibits across various venues in North Charleston. The event promises a vibrant experience for attendees, as highlighted by the lineup of events and competitions.
Exhibit Hall C at the Charleston Area Convention Center will be a hub of creativity, hosting various art and photography competitions throughout the festival. Award winners will be announced during the Arts Fest Opening Celebration on May 1, featuring a mix of food, music, and art. The event will provide a platform for artists like Jirah Perkins, the winner of the poster design competition, whose solo exhibit at Park Circle Gallery will showcase their paintings.
The festival will also offer a rich tapestry of music, theatre, and dance performances. From concerts spanning different genres to dance showcases featuring cultural dances from around the world, attendees can immerse themselves in a melting pot of artistic expressions. Notable events include the World Dance Showcase on May 4 and The Colour of Music Festival premiere on May 2, paying homage to Black classical music.
One of the highlights of the Arts Fest is the Arty Block Party on May 4, where performing and visual arts converge on East Montague Avenue. The street art market will host local artists and artisans alongside live music performances, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for all.
