North Charleston announces six finalists for Chief of Police

The City of North Charleston has narrowed its search for a new Chief of Police to six finalists from an initial pool of thirty-four candidates. Two of the finalists are internal candidates from the department, one is from the City of Charleston, and the remaining three are from various locations across the country.

Final in-person interviews will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. A panel of ten individuals will conduct these interviews. Following this process, the Mayor will make the final decision on who will be appointed as the next Chief of Police.

- Ronald Camacho

- Karen Cordray

- Kyle Dowdy

- Angela Johnson

- Jerri Sutton
