Holiday Parade impacts Charleston streets with closures

The annual Holiday Parade is set to occur on December 7, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parade will start on Broad Street near Colonial Lake, make a left turn onto Meeting Street, and conclude in Marion Square. Following the parade, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held in Marion Square.

Key timings for the event have been outlined as follows: At 2 p.m., the parade route will close to through traffic while allowing cross traffic; by 2:45 p.m., it will be closed entirely to cross traffic; at 3 p.m., the parade officially begins; and at 5 p.m., the tree lighting ceremony is scheduled.

During this time, vehicle access to certain businesses and residences along the route will be restricted. Officers will be positioned along the parade path to help manage traffic flow and provide neighborhood access.
