Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district, shared a series of tweets on February 11, 2025, addressing issues related to sexual assault and victim advocacy. These posts highlight her commitment to ensuring justice for victims and holding perpetrators accountable. In a tweet posted at 01:41 UTC, Rep. Mace expressed her sense of duty towards addressing the issue of sexual assault. She wrote,

“God placed this burden in my path—not to crush me, but to ignite something within me. A purpose. A calling. A responsibility. To make sure these women will never be forgotten, and the men who hurt them will never be allowed to hide again.”At 01:48 UTC on the same day, Rep. Mace revealed that she had been contacted by multiple rape victims since leaving the floor after a speech she gave earlier that night. She offered support and confidentiality for victims reaching out by providing a contact number:

“I’ve heard from multiple rape victims, of these predators, tonight since I left the floor. My heart is with each of you.If you are a victim, you may call 843.212.7048. We will keep your information confidential.”Later that morning at 11:54 UTC, Rep. Mace shared an update regarding one of the victims who reached out to her after her speech. The victim reportedly received assistance from a victim's rights advocate shortly before Rep. Mace's address was delivered.

“One of the rape victims called me last night after my speech to say she received a victim’s rights advocate in the hours before my speech.Finally.What took so long and why? This system is broken.”
