Rep. Nancy Mace, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina's 1st district, shared her views on social media regarding issues of immigration and public safety. Mace has been a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham.
On March 5, 2025, Rep. Mace questioned four mayors during an Oversight hearing with the tweet: "So far none of the four activist mayors sitting before Oversight cannot give a straight, simple answer to this simple question: Would you turn a violent criminal illegal alien over to ICE?"
Later that day, she posted another tweet highlighting a contentious perspective on immigration and crime rates: "InCrEaSe in ImMiGraNts ReSultS in A DeCreAse in CrIMe https://t.co/1wGgcvvyLl"
In another statement on the same date, Rep. Mace addressed Boston Mayor Michelle Wu's comments directed at former acting ICE Director Tom Homan: "The audacity of master manipulator Wu to say anything to Tom Homan other than 'thank you for cleaning up my mess.'"
