Rep. Nancy Mace, currently representing South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates via social media on April 21, 2025. The tweets covered personnel changes, legislative efforts, and a commentary on gang-related crime and justice.

In a tweet posted at 14:20 UTC, Mace announced Sydney Long as the new Communications Director. Mace highlighted Long's background, noting she is a graduate from the College of Charleston with "Lowcountry roots" and is now "the youngest Communications Director on the Hill." Mace instructed that all media inquiries be directed accordingly.

Later, at 14:31 UTC, Mace addressed the issue of online exploitation, including "deepfakes, voyeurism, and online humiliation," describing the current system as "failing victims." She mentioned the reintroduction of the Increased Accountability for Nonconsensual Pornography Act of 2025, aimed at empowering victims and holding perpetrators accountable.

In another statement at 15:26 UTC, Mace offered a critique on criminal justice, questioning policies with a rhetorical comment on whether it is better to incarcerate gang members or provide them hospitality, using the phrase "guest room and a hot meal."

Nancy Mace, 45, who was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and currently resides in Charleston, has represented South Carolina's 1st District since 2021. She succeeded Joe Cunningham and has also served in the South Carolina House of Representatives. Mace completed her undergraduate studies at The Citadel in 1999.
