Virginia-based Dominion Energy is currently offering eligible South Carolina agricultural businesses thousands of dollars in incentives through its EnergyWise for Your Business program, according to a recent company press release.

With the EnergyWise for Your Business program, qualified nonresidential electric customers may receive cash incentives and technical assistance to replace inefficient equipment with energy-efficient technology.

“Agriculture is a big part of South Carolina, and we are excited to expand this successful program to meet the needs of these customers by finding the best solution for their operations,” Annika Goodson, EnergyWise for Your Business program manager, said in the release. “Projects will require preapproval to qualify, so customers should connect with us before beginning a project. That way, we can help them determine the best approach to optimize the available financial incentives.”

These new program opportunities may deliver further assistance to qualified agribusinesses such as commercial dairy, poultry, swine, and grain operations in the form of funding for lighting improvements and other energy-saving initiatives.

Customers may apply for up to $100,000 per eligible project category, such as lighting, HVAC, food service, and custom improvements, as well as a customer tax ID, each year, although there are certain limits and limitations.

In order to obtain funding, projects must demonstrate specific and verifiable energy savings and costs.
