Public Services Dept. Provides Hurricane Ian Clean-Up Oct. 13 Update

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (October 13, 2022) - Due to the cleanup efforts associated with Hurricane Ian, the Town of Mount Pleasant Public Services Department will be adhering to the following schedule for waste collection services:

Household garbage (brown cans) will be collected on your regularly scheduled day. Find your collection day here. 

Until further notice, we will not be collecting Construction & Demolition debris. Materials in the C&D category include drywall, wood products, furniture, and appliances. Residents can drop off this type of debris at a County Collection Center.

We have started collecting vegetative debris on Thursday’s route. This process is projected to take several weeks. To help us in this effort, please make sure to put leaves and small debris into yard bags and cut large limbs six feet to eight feet in length. We will provide daily updates on which neighborhoods will be next for collection. Below are the neighborhoods we hope to get to today.

  • Old Village (Goblet-Glencoe)
  • Brickyard Plantation
  • Ivy Hall
  • Park West
    • The Abbey
    • Hall Point
    • Churchill
    • Foxmoor
    • Queensgate
    • Sumerlin
    • Wellesley 
    • Berkleigh
