WASHINGTON, D.C. - On June 9, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) announced the winners of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for South Carolina’s 1st District.

Alondra Colula of Hilton Head Island High School had her piece titled  “Max and Toby” chosen as the winner of the prestigious competition.

Congratulations as well to Shreya Patel of Pinewood Preparatory School and Luis Angel Navarro of Philip Simmons High School on their 2nd and 3rd place submissions!

“The Lowcountry is home to some of the nation's most talented artists, and I love getting to see the work of our next generation of local artists,” said Rep. Mace."Every year our office receives so many incredible submissions from students across the district, making choosing a winner all the more difficult. Congratulations to all the participants in this year's competition, and especially to our winner Alondra. I look forward to seeing her piece hang in the Capitol!"
