Congresswoman Nancy Mace criticized Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle for not providing clear answers regarding the protection of former President Donald Trump. During a recent session, Mace expressed frustration over Cheatle's responses about the number of times the Secret Service denied protections to Trump before an assassination attempt.
"We are witnessing an unacceptable performance by Director Kim Cheatle. Despite repeated questioning, she has failed to provide clear answers regarding the number of times the Secret Service denied protections for President Trump before the assassination attempt," Mace stated. "We are just 9 days out from the assassination attempt which nearly cost President Trump his life. A colossal failure of this magnitude is a matter of national security; she should start preparing her resignation letter. We need leadership that prioritizes the safety of our nation's leaders and provides honest, straightforward answers to Congress and the American people."
Mace emphasized that such failures in protecting high-profile individuals have significant implications for national security and called for accountability within the agency.
