The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) welcomed a new junior officer to its ranks today. Captain Lewis swore in 7-year-old Aiden Kinard during a ceremony held this morning.
Aiden expressed his aspiration to become a police officer, stating, "I want to be a police officer to protect my mom and the people." The department extended its congratulations and expressed anticipation for potentially hiring Aiden when he turns 21.
