Today, three officers from the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) embarked on a mission to deliver supplies to those affected by Hurricane Helene in Tennessee. Capt. Rick Keys, Lt. Renate Dalton, and Pfc. James Stewart departed with vehicles loaded with donations aimed at assisting the victims in Unicoi County, an area severely impacted by flooding.

Capt. Keys has personal ties to Unicoi County as it is his place of origin, while Lt. Dalton also hails from Tennessee. Their connection to the region underscores their commitment to providing aid.

In preparation for this effort, Capt. Keys sought approval from the city council last Thursday to donate two Tahoes to the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department. "We appreciate the council members’ blessing," he stated regarding their support for this initiative.

The NCPD's outreach was further bolstered by contributions from local citizens who participated in the department's “Fill the Cruiser” campaign, which collected essential supplies for distribution.
