The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce has announced its slate of candidates for the 2025 Board of Directors. Each year, a third of the board completes their three-year service term, necessitating new appointments. The nominating committee for this year's selection was led by Chamber Chair Matt Brewer and included Elizabeth Burwell, Joe Grech, Len Hutchinson, Rachael Georgas, Richard Gowe, Peter LaMotte, Stephanie Shipe, and Bryan Derreberry.

These leaders have chosen potential directors to serve in the upcoming term. Members of the chamber can also nominate additional candidates through a petition signed by at least 100 members in good standing. The deadline for submitting such petitions is November 8, 2024. If no petitions are received by then, the proposed slate will be automatically elected during the Chamber's regular November meeting.

"Each year," noted a representative from the chamber, "the Chamber’s Board of Directors will have one-third of its members complete their three-year board service term." They further explained that directors could serve up to three consecutive terms if re-nominated.
