Rep. Nancy Mace has raised concerns regarding a substantial amount of funds reportedly missing from the World Bank's climate initiatives. According to Mace, "As the World Bank’s largest contributor, the United States has poured billions into climate programs which now seem to have vanished into thin air."

She criticized a recent decision by the White House, stating, "The White House just pledged another $150 billion to the World Bank without ensuring any accountability." Emphasizing the importance of transparency and responsibility in financial matters, she remarked, "Taxpayers deserve to know every penny sent abroad is working for them, not vanishing into untraceable climate ‘projects.’ Accountability matters here.”

Mace's statement highlights ongoing concerns about financial oversight and management within international organizations tasked with addressing global issues such as climate change.
