The Charleston Chamber Foundation has received a $100,000 grant from the Truist Charitable Fund to develop a People First Regional Scorecard. This initiative aims to measure and address issues affecting economic mobility and quality of life in the region.
Mark Lattanzio, Coastal Market President for Truist, stated, “Through our Charitable Fund, Truist is proud to support the Chamber’s bold People First initiative, which we believe addresses our region’s most critical issues using the Scorecard to track progress in each of the pillars.”
The People First initiative is a community-focused movement developed through sessions with local leaders. It focuses on four key pillars and aims to ensure that everyone in the region can thrive. The Regional Scorecard will be used as a tool for benchmarking progress and identifying opportunities for action by collecting and analyzing data.
Bryan Derreberry, President and CEO at the Charleston Metro Chamber, expressed gratitude for Truist's support: “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Truist, which will allow us to take a significant step forward in our efforts to improve the lives of our region’s employees.”
The development of the Scorecard involves collaboration with experts including data analysts and community leaders. It will be publicly accessible and updated regularly.
