The Charleston Police Department has apprehended Antroy Xavier Choice, a 20-year-old from North Charleston, in connection with multiple car break-ins and vehicle thefts that took place in downtown Charleston.

The criminal activities reportedly started on November 26, 2024, when Choice allegedly broke into a vehicle parked in a garage on Calhoun Street. The next day, he is accused of stealing a car from Church Street. Detectives have also linked him to another car theft on King Street on December 9 and the theft of a vehicle on Cumberland Street on December 16. All stolen vehicles were subsequently recovered in North Charleston.

Detectives identified Choice as a suspect and utilized GPS data from his ankle monitor to connect him to further thefts in the area. He faces charges including three counts of grand larceny and two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle. Currently, Choice is detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

"The series of thefts serves as a reminder that vehicles are not secure storage spaces for valuables," stated the police department's release. They advised residents to "please lock your doors, take your keys with you, look out for your neighbors and report suspicious activity."

For anyone with information related to these incidents, the police department encourages contact at 843-720-2422 or through their online tip submission portal at charleston-sc.gov/tips.
