The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Kevin T. Sheilley as its new President and CEO. With over two decades in chamber leadership and economic development, Sheilley brings extensive experience to his new role.

Before joining the Charleston Metro Chamber, Sheilley served for more than 12 years as President and CEO of the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) in Florida. During his tenure, the CEP was recognized as Chamber of the Year by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in 2020.

“The Charleston Metro Chamber is excited to begin this new chapter with Kevin at the helm,” stated Elizabeth Burwell, Chamber Board Chair and Senior Vice President at Southern First Bank. “His leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue to champion the Charleston region’s business community.”

Sheilley's career includes launching the Lake Economic Area Development Partnership (LEAD Partnership) and leading economic development organizations in Kentucky and Tennessee. He holds a Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation and has received awards such as Florida Chamber Executive of the Year.

“I am delighted to join the Charleston Metro Chamber and become a part of this incredible community," said Kevin Sheilley. "I am passionate about the role that business plays in shaping our region’s future, and I am committed to working tirelessly to support our members and drive positive change."

As he begins his tenure, Sheilley will focus on strategic initiatives like People First, which aims to enhance economic mobility and quality of life through solutions related to housing, education, transit, and childcare.
