We have a very important event coming next week involving those who have lost someone to homicide.
Please join us Dec. 9 in person or online for the 23rd annual Candlelight Vigil and Service of Remembrance sponsored by the Survivors of Homicide Support Group. The event brings together a community of survivors in a place of understanding and mutual compassion during this especially trying time of the year.
All survivors are urged to bring a wallet-size photo of those they lost to be included on a Tree of Remembrance. There will be music, messages and a time for sharing.
This year’s vigil is 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 712 Wappoo Road, West Ashley. It will also be streamed live at https://www.facebook.com/charlestoncountysheriff/live.
The event is a collaboration between the MUSC National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.
