NCPD would like to extend its congratulations to Pfc. Ashley Talnagi for successfully completing the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) course. Officer Talnagi is now one of only 100 DREs in South Carolina and the second officer in their department to achieve this certification.

The DRE course is notoriously difficult to obtain due to the rigorous requirements. If selected for DRE school, officers must complete two weeks of training and then take a five-day course. During the course, Pfc. Talnagi had to evaluate individuals and determine which drugs they were on.

After successfully identifying 12 different drugs, she had to take another test. Pfc. Talnagi passed the test with flying colors and is now a certified DRE. The NCPD expressed their pride in her accomplishment and wished her continued success in her career. Congratulations to Pfc. Ashley Talnagi on this significant achievement.
