Representative Nancy Mace's (SC-01) bipartisan bill, the Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act, is poised for a House floor vote this week. This move comes on the heels of its recent approval by the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

The Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act aims to transform government operations by updating, retiring, or replacing outdated legacy technology systems in use across various government agencies. The legislation signifies a critical initiative to streamline government processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen cybersecurity measures throughout federal departments. Representative Gerry Connolly is also an original cosponsor of this bill.

"This is a monumental win for our efforts to reform and revolutionize government technology," stated Rep. Nancy Mace. "Our bipartisan bill is a critical step towards bringing federal agencies into the modern digital era, ensuring they have the necessary tools and infrastructure to serve the American people effectively."

The bill's progression to the House floor underscores the bipartisan and urgent need to address outdated legacy government technology systems. By promoting the adoption of modern technology solutions, the legislation seeks to improve service delivery, enhance data security, and ultimately save taxpayer dollars.

"We cannot afford to continue relying on outdated technology that hampers government efficiency and compromises cybersecurity," Rep. Mace added. "I urge my colleagues to support the Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act and join us in advancing this essential reform for the benefit of all Americans."
