The South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED), Charleston Metro Chamber, and Coastal Community Foundation (CCF) have launched the Lowcountry Minority Business Partnership (LMBP). This initiative aims to connect, empower, and inspire a network of minority entrepreneurs by offering resources, providing connection opportunities, and hosting events. Several other regional organizations also collaborate in this partnership.

To celebrate National Small Business Month, the LMBP hosted a Small Business Resource Mixer on Friday, May 10, at The Opportunity Center. The event aimed to bring new resources to small- and minority-owned business owners in the Lowcountry. Attendees connected with each other, accessed curated resources, and listened to a success panel of local entrepreneurs who shared personal testimonies on how the available resources transformed their business operations.

The mixer also marked the release of the digital Ecosystem Resource Guide, an extensive collection of resources for minority business owners. The guide contains helpful information for all stages of a business’s lifecycle, from startup to mature business.

This event marked just the beginning of what the LMBP hopes to accomplish as it continues building and supporting the minority business ecosystem in the Lowcountry.

For more information about becoming involved with the LMBP, interested parties can fill out an interest form at https://business.scaced.lumavateapps.com/ic/pb/68606.
