Congresswoman Nancy Mace has announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will cease testing on animals, following persistent advocacy from her office.
"After relentless pressure from our office, the VA finally caved and ended its cruel, wasteful experiments on cats and dogs," Mace stated. "We've fought tooth and nail with countless bills to put a stop to these inhumane tests and the misuse of taxpayer dollars."
Mace emphasized the significance of this development for animal protection and government accountability. "This victory is a huge win for our efforts to protect animals and hold the government accountable," she said.
She also acknowledged the support received from White Coat Waste Project, an organization known for its stance against taxpayer-funded animal experiments. "A big thanks to White Coat Waste Project for their unwavering support," Mace added.
Looking ahead, Mace affirmed her commitment to ensuring responsible use of taxpayer funds. "We're not stopping here—every taxpayer dollar must be used responsibly, and we're making sure of it."
