Charleston police execute search warrant leading to multiple gun and drug charges

The Charleston Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit executed a search warrant in the Rosemont neighborhood in the north area of downtown Charleston.

On August 23, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., officers conducted a search warrant at a residence on Doscher Avenue in reference to an ongoing drug investigation.

Detectives seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cocaine base, marijuana, and several prescription drugs from the residence. In addition to the drugs, five firearms and several firearm accessories were removed from the residence. The firearm accessories included drum magazines, a buttstock, and a custom trigger. Two of the firearms had been reported stolen.

As a result of the investigation, Keith Lamar Middleton Jr., 26, of Charleston was charged with possession with intent to distribute (PWID) cocaine; PWID cocaine base; two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a stolen handgun; and cruelty to animals. Keith Middleton is currently under the supervision of SC probation, pardon and parole.

K’Von Hasim Middleton, 23, of Charleston was also arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl; trafficking methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance; PWID cocaine; PWID marijuana; PWID cocaine base; PWID of a controlled substance; and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

This was a result of an extended investigation aided by patrol officers, detectives, and members of the community.
