Congresswoman Nancy Mace has expressed criticism regarding the White House's decision to allocate $1 billion to Africa for disaster relief. Mace contends that this move neglects domestic needs, particularly in the aftermath of two hurricanes affecting South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
Mace stated, "Once again, this administration shows us where their priorities lie—and it’s not with the American people." She highlighted what she perceives as a disparity in aid distribution: "In his last days in office, the president rushes to send a blank $1 billion check to Africa meanwhile families in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia are left struggling from two hurricanes with a measly $750 and a pat on the back. Disgusting."
The congresswoman's comments reflect her dissatisfaction with the federal response to local disaster recovery efforts compared to international aid initiatives.
