The annual Emancipation Parade is set to occur on January 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The parade will commence on Fishburne Street near Burke High School and follow a route that includes Ashley Avenue, Sumter Street, King Street, Calhoun Street, and Concord Street before concluding near Laurens Street.

During the event, road closures will be implemented in segments starting at 11 a.m. to minimize disruption along the entire route. The roads are expected to reopen by 12:15 p.m., with a program scheduled to begin at the International African American Museum at 12:45 p.m.

Access for vehicles to certain businesses and residences will be restricted during the parade. Officers will be present along the route to manage traffic flow and assist with neighborhood access.
