Due to icy road conditions, the City of Charleston has announced that its offices will remain closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025. City officials are collaborating with regional partners to ensure the roads are safe for travel as soon as possible. The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is dispatching an additional 14 crews to assist in clearing the roads.

An update regarding other city services will be released later today.

City officials urge residents to stay off the roads for their own safety and that of first responders. Barricades have been placed throughout the city to facilitate snow plow operations. Residents are asked to respect these barricades and road closures to maintain safety during these hazardous conditions.

The Ashley River Bridges and Ravenel Bridge remain closed while crews work on clearing them. Residents can monitor bridge closures and openings through a provided link.
