Representative Nancy Mace, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina's 1st district since 2021, expressed her views and legislative priorities in a series of tweets. Her comments touched on issues concerning immigration policy and political discourse, as she continues her work representing her constituents.

On April 18, Mace accused left-wing politicians of sympathizing more with members of the MS-13 gang than with American hostages. She stated in a tweet, "Apparently being an MS-13 gang member gets you more sympathy from the Left than being an American hostage."

Later that day, Mace shared her thoughts on the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) shelter program, which she suggested has become overly accommodating to illegal immigrants. She tweeted, "FEMA’s 'shelter program' has become a golden ticket for illegal aliens. Free rooms, free meals, free everything. We introduced the Alien Removal Not Resort Stays Act to end the ride and put ICE back in charge."

The following day, a brief and enigmatic tweet from Mace simply stated, "Today we wait."

Nancy Mace, 45, born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and an alumna of The Citadel, currently resides in Charleston. Having replaced Joe Cunningham in Congress, she earlier served in the South Carolina House of Representatives. Mace aims to address issues such as immigration and national security in her capacity as a congresswoman.
