Charleston police arrest suspect in James Island shooting

The Charleston Police Department has arrested an individual responsible for a shooting that took place on August 1, 2024, near the intersection of Central Park Road and Fleming Road.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving shots being fired. The victim reported being in a verbal altercation with the armed suspect when the suspect threatened to kill the victim. The victim fled on foot as the suspect fired his gun; however, no one was injured during the shooting.

Following the investigation, Cameron Brisbane (24, of Charleston) is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He was arrested on August 1, 2024, and is currently in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
