On December 16, 2024, Representative Nancy Mace issued a statement regarding recent drone sightings across several states. She expressed concern over the federal government's handling of these incidents.

"Trust in the federal government is already at rock bottom—and just when we thought it couldn’t get worse, it has," said Rep. Mace. She criticized the White House for allegedly not providing clear answers to the public, stating, "Dozens of unexplained drone sightings across multiple states, and the White House is lying through their teeth instead of giving the American people clear answers. They think we can’t handle the truth."

Rep. Mace emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in addressing these issues: "We’ve always going to stand up for transparency and accountability because the American people deserve to know what’s happening in their skies, especially when it comes to their safety and privacy."

She urged Congress to take action if these sightings reveal deficiencies in managing unauthorized drones or aircraft. "If these sightings are exposing failures in how we handle unauthorized drones or aircraft, Congress needs to act now to close those gaps," she stated.

Rep. Mace concluded her statement by highlighting the significance of keeping citizens informed: "Transparency matters. Keeping Americans in the dark only fuels confusion and concern. Protecting our communities and securing our airspace must be a top priority."
